The first film in a series about making wobblers from wood. I demonstrate the starting material—linden—and its initial processing. Next, we need a sample, photograph, or drawing of the wobbler; we redraw its shape and cut out the blanks from the linden. After that, it's essentially standard wood carving. I demonstrate how to correctly and easily carve wobblers from wood, taking into account the grain direction, from a single piece of wood and from two halves. I demonstrate wood chisels that are convenient for cutting out wobbler blanks and applying imitation gills to them. Then, using an example of a wobbler blank from a solid piece of wood, I demonstrate the installation of hinges, blades, and weighting of the blank, as well as the materials needed for this. In the next video on this topic, I'll talk about making wobblers from two halves—how to cut grooves for reinforcement and notches for weights from the inside of the blanks, how to make reinforcement for wobblers from two halves, how to correctly calculate the weight of the weight and select the weights, gluing the blanks together and applying an affordable, budget-friendly epoxy resin to them—to give the blanks strength—the so-called armoring, as well as to protect the wood from water and as a durable primer layer, onto which paint is then applied when painting the blanks.
