Jackson Browne: For Everyman. A 2nd. album masterpiece
In 1973, Jackson Browne released this, his second album. With him as principle song writer and producer, he manages to capture a period of change in his life that is so profound, and yet at times funny, that I believe this album to be a true masterpiece. Surrounded by so many gifted musicians, each at the top of their game, the album gives a feeling of what it must have been like to be a part of Jackson Browne's scene, at that time. Expertly engineered by John Haeny, Al Schmitt, Kent Nebergall and Rick Tarantini, with mixing by Al Schmitt and mastering by Greg Ladanyi, I believe this album is (in the words of the critic Janet Maslin) to be both "intimate and universal" all at the same time.
