As you can see, it has two wires: when it receives positive and negative power from the battery, it pushes. When we connect it the other way around, it pulls. It's sold with the motor and its connection hardware. You can easily find it very cheaply at auto parts stores. This is the device that connects the two wires that come with the motor. We'll see more about its function in a moment. Our second key component is the trunk release module. This sends an electric current when we press the unlock button twice within 3 seconds. When we send that electricity to our motor, the motor will pull and open the trunk. The instructions clearly indicate which wires should be connected where. Always connect the positive and negative wires to the battery. We'll connect the positive terminal that triggers our vehicle's central locking motor to the terminal labeled "open plus." We'll connect the terminal labeled "output" to our central locking motor, which we've installed in the trunk. I'll leave the positive terminal, marked green, blank to disable the system while the ignition is engaged. Since I don't see any need for such a thing, I'll leave it blank. This is the trunk lock you see. When I pull the latch, this wire pulls the latch latch, and the trunk opens. Now, our first goal is to install the lock motor we bought from a local dealer so it can pull the latch latch. I thread the wire, similar to the spokes of a bicycle that came with the motor, into the locking cable, then reinsert the original latch cable. We've now secured the locking cable so it won't come loose. Now, we need to mount the motor in the direction I've indicated. First, I'll do a test run to ensure the motor doesn't interfere with the upholstery or anything else. After attaching the mounting bracket, I'll drill holes in the designated locations during the test run to ensure a secure hold. Drilling holes in the trunk lid can be a bit of a pain for some, but ultimately, we'll be adding a new feature to the car. It's not going to stay under the floorboards anyway. Yes, we secured the motor with bolts, and as you can see, it's completely secure. Now it's time to attach the wire to the motor. The device I showed at the beginning of the video allows us to adjust the two wires according to the motor's position and the wire tension. Our mechanical system seems complete. Let's also power it up, and yes, it works fine. Now let's move on to installing the module. When we press the unlock button on our car's remote control, there are central locking motors inside the doors, similar to the motor we installed in the trunk. Instantaneous electricity flows to these motors, triggering the motors and unlocking the locks. If your car has a positive trigger, you can connect this module directly. However, if it has a negative trigger, you'll need to get a relay from an auto electrician that will convert the trigger to positive. You'll connect the positive terminal from the relay to the relay. My car has a positive trigger, so there's no need for a relay. To ensure it's close to the trunk, we'll draw power from the lock motor on the left rear door. Instead of opening the door, we'll find the wires leading to the door motor. When we remove the plastic trim inside the sill panel, we find the wiring harness that runs towards the door hinge. As you can see, the wires coming to the hinge boot are colored the same as the wiring harness we found. This means the wiring harness is one of these. After attaching one end of our vehicle control pen to the chassis, we press the unlock button and check which of the wires is receiving power. As you can see, I found the signal in that yellow wire, stripped it, and added a wire. I resealed the wiring harness, and we're done. Now, I'm removing the piece on the side of the rear seat by unscrewing the screw at the bottom. The screw on the piece is right there, as I indicated. This is where we'll install our module. Now I need to find a constantly powered area. I attach the control pen to the chassis. I check which of the wires is receiving power. Look, this yellow wire in the corner is always live. I'll connect this wire to the module's red wire, which is marked battery positive. They added a 10 Amp fuse to the red cable of the module, so even if there is a short circuit due to any wrong connection or other reason, this fuse will blow and protect the vehicle.
