A Beginner’s Guide to Radio Contesting “To contest or not to contest, that is the question…” Many are intimidated by contesting for their own personal reasons and there are many! After watching this video, we believe you too can get past that first invitation to contest and signup! Explore how the North Eastern Maryland Amateur Radio Contest Society (NEMARCS) contests virtually, without an actual, physical clubhouse using social media tools like Discord with live video streaming! In this personally engaging clip, we address the very basics of ham radio sport, or contesting. Terminology, objectives and scoring basics are all covered at a very high, introductory level! The use N3FJP’s contesting tools are also mentioned and shown in use during a contest. The ‘soft side’ or ‘personal aspects’ of contesting are revealed during interviews and some humorous clips to fill in the gaps between topics!
