Sever's Disease - Adolescent Heel Pain

Sever's Disease-Adolescent Heel Pain is very common in active children between 10-14 years old. Don't let the words Sever's "DISEASE" scare you. Sever's is an issue where the growth plate in the heel is not fully closed so when the plantar fascia pulls on the bottom of the heel and the Achilles pulls on the back of the heel, it stresses the growth plate and becomes inflamed and painful. 👉The Calcaneal Squeeze Test is the best clinical test to identify Sever's. 👉We see Sever's Disease most often times in 10-14 year olds who are active playing sports. They usually have high arches and have calf tightness. 💥👉 Best treatment for Sever's is... -Relative rest. Decrease running time. Alternate with low impact activity like swimming or biking. -Corrective orthotics. Use and orthotic to control the heel from rocking side to side and support the arch to decrease the plantar fascia pull. -Stretch the calves on a slant board. Less pull from the Achilles = less pull at the heel. -Time!! These almost always get better. ⭐ Recommended orthotics ➡ TREAD LABS INSOLES (Affiliate) https://alnk.to/2QA603U ⭐ Want to stretch those calves the right way?
