Efectos de la obesidad sobre el sistema cardio-respiratorio en el perro y el gato
EVENT DETAILS Beyond Weight: Clinical Impact of Obesity on the Cardiorespiratory System of Small Animals Obesity is no longer considered a mere "physical condition," but rather a chronic inflammatory disease that acts as a critical risk factor in the progression of cardiopulmonary pathologies. In daily clinical practice, we encounter patients whose therapeutic management is compromised by excess adipose tissue, which not only hinders diagnostic imaging but also drastically alters ventilatory dynamics and cardiac preload. Understanding the pathophysiology that links adipose tissue with oxidative stress and hypertension is fundamental to providing an effective multimodal approach. This webinar is designed to help you stop viewing excess weight as merely an aesthetic problem and begin treating it as a key element in the stability of your cardiac and respiratory patients. We will analyze how controlled weight loss can significantly improve prognosis, reduce clinical symptoms, and optimize the response to inotropic and diuretic drugs in dogs and cats. WHY ATTEND THIS WEBINAR? You will understand the pathophysiological mechanisms by which obesity exacerbates conditions such as tracheal collapse or congestive heart failure. You will identify the key changes in lung function and cardiac output that occur after a successful reduction in body condition score (BCS). You will learn clinical and nutritional management strategies to optimize the treatment of patients with cardiorespiratory comorbidities. You will explore the latest scientific evidence on the real benefit of weight loss on longevity in chronically ill patients.
