Presentation by Olivier Chambert-Loir on "Transformative Mediation: Stance, Practices, and Perspectives," during an online breakfast co-organized by AFIM (International Francophone Mediation Association) and SCCM (Swiss Chamber of Commercial Mediation). During this presentation, he focused on: • Presenting the foundations of the transformative approach: the view of conflict as a crisis of interaction characterized by the destabilization and withdrawal of the protagonists. • Describing the natural dynamic of transformation through the accumulation of Empowerment (regaining the power to act) and Recognition. • Defining the intentions and the resulting (low and active) stance for the mediator called upon to support this transformation. • Provide a concrete overview of how these intentions can be put into practice through interventions (and non-interventions).
