In North Rhine-Westphalia, 50 municipal authorities inspect restaurants, from snack bars to Michelin-starred establishments. However, an exclusive Westpol investigation reveals that half of these offices are short-staffed. As a result, authorities sometimes allow restaurants to remain open despite serious deficiencies. Furthermore, the lack of transparency makes it difficult for customers to see where problems have already been identified. One fast-food restaurant in Düsseldorf has repeatedly come to the attention of the authorities. Nevertheless, a customer contracted salmonella. Initiatives to introduce a hygiene rating system have failed. 👍 Give us a like if you enjoyed the video! ---------- ▶️ More videos from Westpol:    • Politik und Zeitgeschehen | WDR   📺 The full episode from November 16, 2025, is available in the ARD Mediathek with sign language interpretation: https://1.ard.de/Westpol_161125_GBS?yt=d ℹ️ More about the program: https://www1.wdr.de/fernsehen/westpol... 📷 Climate-neutral Instagram:   / klima.neutral   ------------------------- #Food #Hygiene #Salmonella #Gastronomy #FoodPoisoning #WDR
