Beograd - Kaludjerica - 2025

Kaluđerica (Cyrillic: Калуђерица) is a village in Serbia, located in the municipality of Grocka and on the territory of the City of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 26,904[1]. Kaluđerica is located nearby, 8 km east of Belgrade. Its name means "town of monks". The place rightfully bears its name because it is home to a Serbian Orthodox church, Saints Joachim and Anne. It also has an elementary school named Aleksa Šantić, which has been located in the heart of the village since 1980 and has been renovated. Presentation Location of the municipality of Grocka in the City of Belgrade Kaluđerica is experiencing one of the most spectacular demographic growths in Serbia, which is explained by the influx of refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Kosovo. Many of these refugees are more or less illegal. The Belgrade City Transport Company (GSP) and Telekom Srbija, relying on the number of their users, estimate the population at between 45,000 and 50,000 [citation needed]. The living conditions of these inhabitants are often primitive. Klenak The eastern part of Kaluđerica is known as Klenak. This suburb is the highest point of the locality; therefore, it offers a view of the rest of Kaluđerica. Klenak developed along the Belgrade-Niš highway (European route E75) and, as such, extends into the municipality of Zvezdara and forms a whole with Mali Mokri Lug. A bridge over the highway connects Klenak and Mali Mokri Lug with Veliki Mokri Lug, a settlement that has expanded on the other side of the highway.
