Mercedes-Benz EQS vs Porsche Taycan: Battle of the posh German EVs

Got around £100k to spend on your next posh electric car? Course you do, who doesn't?! If so, chances are you'll be looking at one - or both - of these. The Mercedes EQS 450+ flies out of the blocks with some very impressive stats, mainly its 107kWh battery and the theoretical range of up to 453 miles. It also develops 329bhp from a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, so it's far from slow. Even so, that power output pales in comparison compared with the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo 4S, which develops 483bhp driving all four wheels. That said, the range is nowhere close to the Merc's at 281 miles, and the Porsche's price is also £10,000 lower, starting from around £90,000.
