EPISODIO #284: ARROZ a la CUBANA (Episodio Épico en medio de Crisis)
As a Church, faithful to its mission, the question is not only how to respond to the current Cuban crisis, but how to live the Gospel in the midst of it. The Church is not called simply to plug temporary holes, but to sow hope, dignity, and community even in the midst of difficulty. 1. Responding with presence The Church's first response is to be close to the people: to listen, accompany, console, and walk with those who suffer. 2. Responding with concrete charity Soup kitchens, helping the sick, sharing food and what little we have are clear signs that Christian love is still alive. 3. Responding by forming community In times of crisis, we most need to unite, organize, and help one another, remembering that no one is saved alone. 4. Responding with hope Christians do not deny the difficult reality, but neither do they lose hope. Our hope does not come from circumstances; it comes from God. 5. Growing in the Midst of Crisis Crises can also be moments where people discover their solidarity, creativity, faith, and resilience. As the Gospel says: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5) Therefore, the Church is called to be light in the midst of darkness, sowing love, faith, and hope in every community. Lord, keep your family on the path of good that you have shown them, and grant that, protected by your hand in their temporal needs, they may strive with greater freedom toward eternal goods. Amen.
