I start by talking about the idea of making a Q&A video about buying a quinta in Portugal, especially about the purchase process, the habitation licence and other questions that can come up along the way. Then I share a little of our routine in northern Portugal, including a lovely dinner, a wonderful breakfast at Quinta da Roda and our arrival at the quinta to sort out a few things around the house. In this episode, I show the fly trap I brought from England, the discovery of carpenter bees making holes in the wood, a wasp nest near the house and the difficulty of dealing with pests without harming the bees during pollination season. We also follow the removal of the old diesel tank from the house, an important step before preparing the space for the new water tank, as we are installing a heat pump to sort out the hot water and climate control for the quinta. I also show the cleaning of the eira with a pressure washer, a few antique finds I bought at the antiques fair in Vila Verde, and a walk through a beautiful stone village in northern Portugal. We finish the video at Restaurant O Vaticano, with delicious Portuguese food, novilho, rice, beans, potatoes and much more.
