The Wilbarger Brushing Protocol at Handprints Therapies

Here at Handprints Therapies we use the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol to provide proprioceptive input to children struggling with sensory processing. As a result of this therapeutic program that we implement with our infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and early intervention program (ages 1-5), our therapists and caregivers have observed significant progress in the areas of sleep, socialization, focus and attention, developmental milestones, language, communication, community integration, and school readiness. They also report a decrease in tantrums, frustration, outbursts, sensory overstimulation, and overwhelm. Our collaborative treatment team is made up of occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, and ABA (behavioral therapists) who value an interdisciplinary approach to pediatric care. They regularly implement the Wilbarger Brushing Protocol when needed to help our children thrive in a way that honors who they are.
