Most of the time, the radio station broadcasts a channel marker that sounds like a short "buzzing" signal, repeated about 25 times per minute, but sometimes the marker is interrupted, after which voice-encoded messages are transmitted in Russian. The station broadcasts continuously. The start date of the broadcast is disputed. It is assumed that the station began broadcasting in 1975.
