La Vaquera (the cowgirl)

This dance is a schotis (chote) danced in groups of three. The person in the middle is the leader with a follower on either side. They are holding hands and arranged in a wagon wheel formation in a circle facing in a counterclockwise direction. For Part A of the music the dancers progress forward doing the basic schotis step. For Part B of the music the leader raises his right hand as the follower on the left goes under the arch as the leader follows until the follower returns to their place. This is repeated with the leader raising their left hand. This repeats twice. The dancers then repeat Part A and Part B until the musicians stop.
