"it's a small world" Disneyland full ride rare HD footage 2007 (courtesy of Dolbyman not me)

This is a very special video of "it's small world" right here, as in a full ride through from 2007 in 720p HD. I'm uploading it for reaching 600 subscribers, an amazing milestone for sure. I was going to upload another audio tribute but couldn't. This video is exceptionally rare for the time, primarily because it's the only full POV video I've seen of the ride from before the massive 2008 refurbishment, which was filmed in 720p HD, not the typical 480/360p cameras of the time. There's one other set of 2006 clips I've seen, which are also rare & amazing, but it's only certain sections of the ride and under 4 minutes in total. Needless to say, this footage is absolutely amazing for these reasons and much more. There were several changes (good and bad) in the 2008 refurbishment, so it's really cool to see the whole ride in this quality before those changes. The video starts just as the boat is leaving the dock, and although it's nighttime, we can see the queue (changed in 2018), wonderful white and gold façade, and one of the original 1964 World's Fair boats directly ahead. These boats were all replaced in the 2008 refurbishment, because the old ones were too lightweight for some guests by the 2000's. The new ones are more durable, but I think the old ones looked much better, and though you can't see it as well outside there are some nice shots inside. Heading inside, the Welcome room looks very similar to current version, with a few small differences, such as improved lighting in 2008 and one boat in first half replaced in 2015. This was 4 years after the restoration of the amazing, mostly original 1964/66 Bobby Hammack soundtrack, so the whole ride sounds fantastic. However, the lighting & set pieces had deteriorated a bit throughout the 90's and 2000's. The whole ride did receive improved lighting in the 2008 refurbishment, but though I made some small improvements to much of the lighting, you can still see how everything was darker than post 2008. This was also before two infamous changes in that refurbishment, the Disney characters and Spirit of America scene. These both have little to nothing to do with the original intent of the ride. I really don't see what the motivation to hunt for the Disney characters has to do with Peace on Earth. And the America scene goes against another of Walt's decisions, by excluding America from the ride, it gave an even better awareness to the guests of the rest of the world. Also, both of these things extensively changed or altered several classic scenes. The England chess board, one of the Japanese kite flyers, Mexican Marketplace, old Mermaids and their awesome underwater vocals, Hawaiian surfer boy, and much more extensive Tahiti, Rainforest and New Guinea scenes, were all great (at least) parts of the ride that should have only ever been improved, not reduced in their greatness for some unnecessary and careless additions. And I am glad that the latter three scenes are still present in reduced size, but for me ideally they would still be larger and in their 1966 locations. However, at least they live on in this video, which has some really nice shots of Mermaids and New Guinea, and even the other scenes are also featured pretty nicely for the time. This can also be said for the whole ride, which despite the lighting is still pretty colorful and the video captures it wonderfully. This was after several changes had been made to the visuals since 1966, including the completely different Welcome & Goodbye rooms (actually redone 4 times, last in 1999), and some of the artwork in some other countries, though for the latter they maintained the classic style of Mary Blair for many of the newer versions so they blend well. Though much of the actual artwork is similar or the same today, all of the Finale set pieces were repainted in 2008, from the blue and purple version in this video to the white and gold present today. The current version uses a more similar pallette to the original 1964 and 66 versions, but reuses the designs added for the pre-2008 version when it replaced the original around 1978-79. And in probably the best decision of the 2008 refurbishment, the original Finale sun (not featured here) was rebuilt and restored to the ride after a nearly 20 year absence. It's very rare and amazing for these reasons and more. I also know that I haven't uploaded as much for the last few weeks. Lately, not only did I go to Disneyland for 3 days a few weeks back, but I've also been extremely busy with other important priorities besides that. I apologize for not uploading much for this time, but I do have a few reasons for it. It really is a fantastic video, thank you so much for 600 subscribers, and I hope you enjoy! I do not own any of the audio or video in this video. Video owned by Dolbyman and audio owned by Disney. The original video isn't on Youtube, but he does have a channel with some other attractions (including DLP IASW).    / dolbymandts
