A serviceman of the 103rd Separate Brigade of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Lyubomyr Mikalo, call sign “Baty”, has been in the army since the first days of the full-scale invasion. He was in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Sumy regions. He fought for a year and a half with his son - in the same dugout. At the end of May 2025, the “Baty” group received a task to advance to the village of Oleksiivka in the Sumy region. As it turned out later, their position was surrounded by Russians. The soldiers entrenched themselves in the basement and hunted the enemy for 42 days. But they themselves suffered losses.
