How can we make heat pump water heaters more accessible, affordable, and equitable for households across different communities?   At the AWHI Equity Working Group meeting in May 2026, we had the opportunity to hear from Rewiring America about its innovative HPWH pilot program in San Jose, California. The presentation showcased how strategic partnerships, fixed pricing, streamlined installation processes, and stacked incentives can help reduce barriers to adoption and accelerate residential electrification.
