Nusle jsou utajená pražská perla, kde se pěstovalo víno i vařilo pivo
Where in Prague would you look for a place where locals and foreigners, hipsters and businessmen, rich and poor, live side by side? Don't you know? Then we will be happy to tell you that it is enough to visit Nusle, this district is a hidden gem of Prague, where wine and beer were made. And we just decided to dedicate another part of the Live Prague series to it. Come with us to explore this (not only historically) unique district! Are you wondering why the vine is depicted in the emblem of Nusle? During the reign of Charles IV. wine was widely grown on the slopes of the valley around Botič, which was related to the first settlement and the beginning of Nusle. Nusle could boast the largest brewery in Central Europe! In 1694, the Nuselský Brewery was founded here by rebuilding an old mill from the 14th century, which gained the above-mentioned primacy in the 19th century. Unlike other Prague districts, Nusle still retains the tradition of small shops and establishments with a variety of goods. After all, customers from all over Prague go here to the famous local hardware store. However, one drastic change awaits Nusle. A new metro line D station will be established on the Bratří Synků square in 2029. If you want to learn more about the "deck", take a look at the part we dedicated to it ( • Kdy bude Metro D a kudy povede? ). Do you want to take a break from all the stress and hustle and bustle? Folimanka Park is an oasis of peace. Originally in its place was the vineyard and the homestead of the farmer Jakub Foliman, after whom the park bears its name. You can find out more about Nusle in the video. And how do you like Nusle? Do you have a favorite business or shop here?
