Weaving Strickler 8-Shaft Draft #9 With Modifications
This is the second draft I'm weaving on this warp from "The Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Patterns" by Carol Strickler. I take draft #9 and change the treadling a bit. The first part is a short M & W treadling and the main body is a broken twill where I skip a treadle every 8 picks. I also reverse the treadling after every 72 picks to create a chevron The warp is a white 8/2 cotton. The weft is also 8/2 cotton, but I've used 4 different blues. This is set at 20 epi and 20 ppi. This particular draft has long floats and would probably work better at 24 epi & 24 ppi.
