Microphone Windscreen Comparison | Fur Windscreen vs. Blimp Windshield

In this video I'll be comparing the performance of various wind screens on microphones. When recording audio, it is very important to have a shield on your mic to filter wind noise. This is mainly to deal with natural wind found outdoors. Even indoors, moving a mic can create wind noise. There are many different types of wind shields. I’ll be comparing the most common ones in order from the least wind screening to the most. To conduct the test, I’ll have the same NTG-3 boom microphone set up at the same distance from a fan set to high. The microphone will be plugged into my camera which will automatically set levels for the audio. This will allow you to hear the difference between the various wind screens. After you hear the raw audio, I’ll edit the audio to provide the best sound I can from each windscreen. I didn't include a foam windscreen in the test as I didn't have one sitting around that would fit the NTG-3. From my experience they provide very minimal wind screening function and mainly help stop spit in voiceovers. Let me know what you think in the comments! If you have any questions about the various windscreens please feel free to ask.
