Three days in the Harz Mountains, around 60 kilometers, and plenty of elevation gain. In this first part of our three-day Harz tour, we start in Ilsenburg and immediately embark on a proper hike of almost 17 kilometers and nearly 1000 meters of elevation gain. Along the way, we collect stamps for the Harz Hiking Badge, hike through beautiful landscapes, and see firsthand how drastically some areas have been altered by the bark beetle infestation.
