When a car is parked so stupidly in the parking lot in front of the shopping center that it's blocking two of the rare parking spaces, Della loses her temper. She writes the driver an angry note and sticks it behind the windshield wiper. This turns out to be a huge mistake, because the car belongs to a gang of petty criminals, whose leader, Chuckie (Lukas Haas), is a humorless brute. The gangsters block Della's path and scare her. A shot is accidentally fired, killing a security guard. Since Chuckie and his men don't want to leave a witness alive, Della is now on their hit list. In the general confusion, however, she manages to escape into a nearby forest.
