Playlist    • ペルソナQ2   This series is an RPG set in modern-day Japanese towns and high schools, where strange creatures such as demons and shadows have appeared due to an incident. The protagonists, who have awakened to their "Persona abilities," work together to resolve the situation. For this reason, the setting is modern, with recovery facilities located in the school infirmary or a local doctor's office, recovery items purchased at a drugstore, and armor shops in boutiques. While incorporating occult elements such as school ghost stories, rumors, and urban legends, the series also deals with familiar themes for young people, such as friendship and romance. While Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, which was released around the same time as this series, was an extension of the traditional Shin Megami Tensei system, this series is not bound by the traditional Megami Tensei framework and employs many new systems, but it inherits the series' numerous addictive elements and hidden themes. According to one of its creators, Koji Okada, this series introduced "the drama of the story" and further strengthened the character elements. The names of magic spells and items, as well as the designs of demons and personas, are shared with the Shin Megami Tensei series. There are also crossover elements, such as some characters making guest appearances.
