I recently took a ride on the "Sanying Line," a brand-new MRT line that just started its trial run (pre-operation) in June 2026! After about 10 years since construction began, this long-awaited opening has finally arrived. It has now become incredibly smooth to travel from downtown Taipei to "Yingge," a pottery town famous for its ceramics that used to be a bit difficult to access, and "Sanxia," known for its beautiful red-brick townscape. The sparkling new station building with its fresh, brand-new scent, and the refreshing blue cars manufactured by Hitachi in Japan. The powerful acceleration gliding along the elevated tracks and the fresh Taiwanese scenery spreading outside the window made this a thrilling journey from start to finish. Since I want you to experience the local atmosphere just as it is, I have kept the transfer scenes and the train window view all the way to the final stop with as few cuts as possible. Trial Run Period: June 30, 2026 – August 31, 2026 Headway (During Trial Run): Operates at approximately 6-minute intervals Fares: Rides are free of charge even when passing through the ticket gates during the trial run (public public opening) period. Official Opening Date: September 1, 2026 (Scheduled) *As this is a trial run period, some signs and facilities around the stations may still be incomplete, but it did not cause any issues for regular boarding.
