Import substitution strategy - Museveni launches Leather processing factory in Kawumu, Luwero

President Yoweri Museveni has extended the gospel of import substitution and export promotion to the people of Uganda to promote development and create wealth. Museveni, who decries continuous importation of goods, says his next emphasis is on paper manufacturing, urging Ugandans to embrace production for commercial purposes. The Head of State was speaking during the launch of Kawumu tannery - a leather manufacturing hub that is currently employing hundreds of Ugandans in Luwero.
