FOOD PLOT DISASTER! Lost a Hen, Broke Equipment & Diesel Hits $5.89

Welcome back to Twisted Tree Farm! This week has been one of those weeks where everything happens at once. We start with some tough news after losing one of our hens unexpectedly, collect nearly 30 eggs, deal with a stubborn rooster, and spend time caring for the flock during some hot Michigan weather. Then it's time to tackle a food plot project that didn't go according to plan. After trying a new seed blend, I decided to start over and go back to what has worked for me in the past. Between tilling, spreading fertilizer and lime, fighting the weather, repairing equipment, and getting seed back in the ground before the rain arrives, this food plot has become one of the most expensive projects I've ever taken on. We also check on the bees, find deer feeding throughout the property, talk whitetail habitat management, and get a glimpse into the daily work that goes into keeping a small farm running. Thanks for following along with our farming, homesteading, beekeeping, and wildlife adventures here in Michigan.
