Today we visit The Strand Miniature Railway as the strand waterside park celebrates 125 years... This miniature railway has been going since 1948 and is very unique due to the fact it has been different gauges within its lifetime. First startling life as a 9" gauge railway, it was evenually reguages to 7 1/4' due to the demand of steam on the line.. This little railway has been here since just after world war 2 in 1948 and has delighted generations of visitors to the strand so as we celebrate 125 years of this historic little coastal park we also celebrate 80 years of this very unique railway..
