Join Seth and I as we head deep into Idaho's backcountry in search of a spring black bear. What starts as a simple spot-and-stalk bear hunt quickly turns into a week of steep climbs, long glassing sessions, blown opportunities, lessons learned, and plenty of laughs along the way. From chasing bears in rugged country to figuring things out one mistake at a time, this trip reminded us that hunting is rarely as simple as it looks. This hunt also gave us a chance to reflect on how far we've come since our first spring bear hunt nearly a decade ago, when a run-in with a grizzly bear, broken gear, and a complete lack of experience taught us some hard lessons.
