Jehovah's Witnesses' doctrine claims that their followers are happy. We're all accustomed to seeing them smiling and relaxed, but this turns out to be a Pirandellian mask. As soon as you begin to investigate their home life, you realize the profound dichotomy between how they present themselves in a social context and how they actually are in private; furthermore, you discover they make extensive use of psychotropic drugs. Why does this happen in a religion that trumpets to the four winds the only degree of happiness that can only be found within it? I spoke about this with Dr. Lorita Tinelli. I am the sponsor of the bill aimed at making it illegal to induce emotional social isolation, which was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies on July 15, 2020.
