His flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range made his live performances the center of some of the most epic rock concerts in the '70s and '80s. Queen’s music was highly influenced by his theatrical style, which defied the conventions of a rock frontman at the time, but it’s what set Queen apart from other rock bands.
