Elburg: the perfect stop on a day trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn?!?! Off the beaten path in Europe

Elburg, with over 600 monuments this is one of the most picturesque towns and well-kept secrets in The Netherlands. The town is located about 80km from Amsterdam, in the North-Western parth of the province of "Gelderland". It's also not far from the popular tourist trap "Giethoorn". Most international tourists would go to the latter. Therefore, I can easily recommend taking a stop in Elburg as it isn't overrun by international tourists yet.
