DIY Witchy Leg Warmers: Crochet Tutorial! 🌙✨(Absolute Beginners)

Witchy Leg Warmers crochet pattern for absolute beginners. This is my original design - full pattern below: For this project you will need: 3.5mm crochet hook 2 balls black yarn, suitable for 3.5mm crochet hook 2 balls white yarn, suitable for 3.5mm crochet hook scissors Instructions 1) Using your black yarn, make a slip knot and crochet a chain of 58 stitches (approximate.) The chain should be long enough to circle your ankle, with 3cm or so to spare - so you may need more or fewer stitches depending on your measurements. 2) Add 1 chain stitch (this is to add ‘height’ so you can begin your next row), and rotate your work. 3) Work 7 rows of UK double crochet. (including the initial chain stitch, you should now have 8 rows of black in total). 4) Tie your white yarn to the end of your black yarn, knotting firmly, and cut to leave a short tail. Work the next 8 rows of UK double crochet in white. 6) Change colours again and work 8 rows of black. 7) Work 8 rows of white. 8) Work 8 rows of black. 9) Begin to work the next 8 rows of white, but add a stitch at each end of row 1. Don’t add any more stitches for row 2 and 3, then add a stitch at each end of row 4. Don’t add any more stitches for row 5 and 6, but add a stitch at each end of row 7. The effect should be a gradually widening shape, which will accommodate your calf. 10) Work the next 8 rows in black, continuing to add 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 11) Work the next 8 rows in white, continuing to add 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 12) Work the next 8 rows in black, continuing to add 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 13) Work the next 8 rows in white, without adding any extra stitches. 14) Work the next 8 rows in black, without adding any extra stitches. 15) Work the next 8 rows in white, without adding any extra stitches. 16) Work the next 8 rows in black, without adding any extra stitches. 17) Work the next 8 rows in white, adding 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 18) Work the next 8 rows in black, adding 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 19) Work the next 8 rows in white, adding 2 stitches at every 3rd row. 20) Work the next 8 rows in black, without adding any extra stitches. 21) Work the next 8 rows in white, without adding any extra stitches. 22) Work the next 8 rows in black, without adding any extra stitches. 23) Work the next 8 rows in white, without adding any extra stitches. 24) Work 2 rows in black, without adding any extra stitches. Knot the end and leave a tail, then use a wide needle to weave this tail securely into the piece (to keep it secured). 25) Take your white yarn, and create a slip knot on your crochet hook. 26) Fold the leg warmer in half lengthways, with right sides together. Inserting your crochet hook into the loops at the top of each edge, chain stitch along the long edge to join the 2 sides and create a seam. 27) When you reach the end of the seam, knot the end of your yarn and secure the tail. Turn the leg warmer through, and the right side will be facing out, with the chain stitch hidden on the inside. Enjoy!
