Welcome to Corfu! This will be my third Greek island I've visited since Kefalonia and Kos. There's something very picturesque about Greece, isn't there? After I'd seen the first Mamma Mia film, I knew this would be a place I'd fall in love with! Come along for the fun with my Mum, Grandma and me - also for my birthday trip! We stayed at the Grecotel Daphnila Bay which sits just outside of Dassia and about 20 minutes from Corfu old town. The hotel was beautiful and we booked our package trip through TUI. The hotel boasts a plethora of bars and restaurants and the most amazing thing is it's all included with the all inclusive package. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious (we had a larger room off the main complex looking over the sea) which was ideal for three of us. Our favourite spots were the pool terrace and beach bar (the Tavernaki restaurant on the water was also beautiful). I couldn't recommend this hotel enough if you're looking for quality, relaxation and an ideal location. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from Corfu Town with a selected timetable. We used it twice and just had to book a few days in advance. Corfu Town is very quaint and demonstrates its history on and off the waters. We really enjoyed our Pirate Ship excursion which we booked through Viator. It was a great way to see the sites from another angle (and a good way to keep cool!). We spent our days lounging around the pool (the most insane views I've ever seen in my life) and of course the beach. There were plenty of sunbeds around the beach and adjacent gardens but you'd have to be early to catch a pool bed! Entertainment at the hotel was fabulous day and night although noting we came just as the school summer holidays wrapped, I imagine it would have been a little livelier a few weeks prior to our arrival! If you're looking to stay at one of the Grecotel hotels, be sure to reserve your dining plans in advance (we did most of these before our holiday started). The staff at the hotel were always really good though to fit us in if they could, even if we booked later than planned. They also made a real fuss of me for my birthday, which was so special. Noting we were also visiting for what would have been my Grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary (my Grandad passed at Christmas, so they just fell short!), it was lovely for everyone at Grecotel to be so attentive. I would definitely come back to this hotel or try other Grecotels in Greece for that matter. We always try and see somewhere new on every adventure, so I would be keen to island hop again next time.
