Alex 'Hurricane' Higgins Last Ever Crucible Match | Highlights

On 8th April 2010, the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield rose to its feet for one final time to pay homage to the genius that was Alex Hurricane Higgins. Despite Ill health Alex discharged himself from hospital to take on old foe Cliff Thorburn in a repeat of the 1980 World Snooker Final. As John Virgo announced his name the applause rang around the famous snooker venue, everyone understanding the part Alex had played in making Snooker the sport it is now. Despite his fragility there were moments of magic and at time the swagger returned. Sadly just 6 weeks after this match Alex passed away in Belfast.
