Carlos Gurrola Arguijo, known as “El Papayita,” died after accidentally ingesting industrial degreaser that was poured into his water bottle by coworkers at a shopping mall in Torreón, Coahuila. He was 47 years old and a constant victim of ridicule and workplace harassment. The company did not provide him with immediate medical attention, and there were irregularities in the handling of evidence. He fought for his life in the hospital for more than two weeks before passing away on September 18, 2025. His family denounces negligence and demands justice.
