David Bowie - Live In Essen - May 18th, 1978

Photos taken by: dpa Live at the Grugahalle Essen, West Germany May 18th, 1978 Sound Quality: B+/B Audience Recording (Arcorman / M_B_F) With a day off after the show in Berlin, Bowie and co head to the western side of Germany to play a gig in Essen. Beauty and The Beast still closes set one, and it would remain that way for the majority of the remainder of the tour. Bowie and the band are firing on all cylinders tonight. Bowie is in great shape vocally, and Belew’s guitar playing is top tier. Highlights include What In The World, Be My Wife, Blackout, Beauty And The Beast, Five Years, Ziggy Stardust, and Station To Station. This upload merged two sources together, despite this, the tape is still incomplete, there’s a cut in Fame, and Rebel Rebel is not on the tape, though it could have been dropped. Overall, a fantastic show, and one I’d highly recommend if you can handle the quality. 0:00 - Introduction 0:29 - Warszawa 7:39 - “Heroes” 15:21 - What In The World 20:42 - Be My Wife 23:40 - The Jean Genie 30:01 - Blackout 33:18 - Sense Of Doubt 36:35 - Speed Of Life 39:18 - Breaking Glass 43:04 - Fame 46:06 - Beauty And The Beast 51:16 - Five Years 57:07 - Soul Love 1:00:01 - Star 1:02:38 - Hang On To Yourself 1:05:54 - Ziggy Stardust 1:09:37 - Suffragette City 1:13:27 - Art Decade 1:16:46 - Alabama Song 1:20:43 - Station To Station 1:31:15 - Stay 1:39:26 - TVC15
