A Fassi F425RA.2.24 in a work-site at 3,400 metres
After having conquered the extreme conditions of the Antarctic, since 2015 Fassi Cranes can also count its work in the highest work-site in Europe, on Helbronner peak, on the Mont Blanc massif, at an altitude of 3,466 metres, amongst its geographic accolades. Here the Fassi crane, an F425RA.2.24 e-dynamic model, worked for three years in extreme conditions, with temperatures as low as 30 degrees below zero and winds of over 70 km/hour, conditions which stopped traditional “construction cranes” from working. The only change to the standard model was the use of a biodegradable, synthetic-based oil, specifically for low temperatures, which avoids risking environmental pollution in the case of accidental “spillages”. One of the advantages of using this crane was its speed of movement to where its intervention was required, for example, when positioning the Fassi crane where necessary for the cement casting and installation of the first steel reinforcements. For the final stages, the Fassi F425RA.2.24 e-dynamic crane was fitted with a platform for the tightening of bolts and for the installation of the doors, windows and solar panels.
