Immigrants whose residence permit expires before June 30 must apply for renewal through the AIMA portal at services.aima.gov.pt. The system is entirely online, and at the end of the process, a receipt is generated, valid for 180 days from the date of issuance. This is your legal document until you receive your new residence permit. In other words, anyone whose document expired by June 30th and who does not request a renewal through the portal described here will not receive this certificate and will therefore be considered irregular from the end of the decree, which runs until October 15th. The same applies to those in the process of renewing their AR CPLP, awaiting the card after exchanging their paper card. You must go to the portal's personal area, where you will find the certificate available for download. The certificate is available after paying the renewal fee and submitting the necessary documents online. The certificate is issued in PDF format, contains a QR code and the holder's personal data, and serves as legal proof of regular residence.
