How to Choose an Instrument | Violin Masterclass | Maximilian Simon

#ArmenianCulture #primaverafoundationofarmenia The series of lectures by German violinist & orchestra leader Maximilian Simon on the art of violin playing, designed for musicians, educators, and anyone engaged in performance practice. This lecture addresses the highly personal and often complex process of choosing a violin. Maximilian Simon explores both the artistic and practical aspects of finding an instrument, emphasizing that sound, comfort, and individual connection are as important as financial considerations. These lectures are part of a special project dedicated to the Armenian edition of The Art of Violin Playing by Carl Flesch. For the first time in Armenian history, the complete edition of one of the most influential violin methods has been published in Armenian translation. The edition is based on the recent version of Carl Flesch’s work (Ries & Erler, 2020), co-edited by Maximilian Simon and Nadine Contini. The Armenian edition is published under a licensing agreement with Ries & Erler. The project is organized by Primavera Charitable Foundation in partnership with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Eduard Topchjan), with the support of the Amaryan Charitable Foundation, Apricot Capital, and Balchug Capital.
