All support is greatly appreciated! Happy Hobby Days and Keep 'em Running! See you soon! ---------------------- Both units featured are 100% bone-stock. At first glance they look very similar. Both are 1/10th Scale 2WD "Grasshopper"-buggies with a bathtub frame, friction dampers, rolling rigid rear axle and front swing arm suspension. But they actually only share a minimum of parts. The Tamiya Grasshopper 2005 (58346) is a rerelease of the original Grasshopper from 1984 (58043) and allthough Tamiya changed some small details they are almost identical. The unit featured here is the Candy Green Limited Edition from 2013 (87331), which, without the body, is identical to the Grasshopper 2005. The Tamiya Rising Fighter 2008 (58416) is on the other hand based on the Grasshopper II Chassis from 1988 (58074), the Super Hornet Body from 1993 (58124) and the Fighter Buggy RX DT-01 Gear Box from 1996 (58184). While the Grasshopper and Grasshopper II was quipped with 380 Type motors, the Rising Fighter inherits the 540 Type from the two Hornets. Both The Grasshopper and The Rising Fighter included a TEU-105BK ESC and as option parts I chose the TSU-01 Servo and the TRU-01 Receiver for them both. Hope you enjoy this comparison! Part 2, which features them both running with bodies etc. coming up soon. You can find more unboxing, build and running videos of these two models (and many other Tamiya RC models) in my channel.
