Loring Air Force Base Regatta 2025

On May 13, I traveled to Limestone, Maine to try land sailing with my DN iceboat, converted to three wheels using a custom kit welded by my friend Mike Young. I joined my first land sailing regatta at Loring Air Force Base, racing alongside nine other converted iceboats in the “Unlimited” class and twelve Blokarts in the “One Design” class. It was a total blast—just like sailing, but completely different. The wind ranged from dead calm to a bit wild at times, and so did our speeds. We sailed and raced when weather permitted and chatted by the fire pit in the hanger when it rained. I’m already looking forward to a possible regatta this October!
