Auswandern - ein Resümee nach 22 Jahren

I haven’t lived in Germany for 22 years. Almost seven of those years were spent in Canada, near Vancouver, surrounded by incredible nature. That’s also where I met two wonderful friends – Elaine and Siya 💛 Canada was exciting and beautiful – but I realized: I’m European. When I decided to leave Canada, Thorsten asked me if I would move to Norway. It felt a bit like a Tinder match – it could have gone completely wrong 😉 But instead, it turned into 16 years of love, engagement, marriage – and a new life between fjords and everyday reality. In this video I share my honest reflections about emigrating. What I’ve learned: You always take yourself with you. You need real wanderlust and a sense of adventure. You must be willing to compromise. You will probably work twice as hard. Practical advice: Research local job platforms (in Norway: Finn.no – similar to eBay combined with a job portal). Visit the country before moving. Think carefully about the region, dialect, mentality, nature and climate. Emigrating is not a vacation. It’s a reset. #Emigrating #LifeAbroad #Norway #Canada #NewBeginnings #FjordLife
