A Prairie Home Companion - April 11, 1987 (Part 1)
In this segment: Theme: Hello Love by Hank Snow (at 0:00) Music: Keep On the Sunny Side by The Carter Family (at 3:05) Sponsorships & Greetings (at 6:05) Music: Peach-Pickin' Time Down in Georgia by Jimmy Rodgers (at 8:28) This is an episode of A Prairie Home Companion which was aired on the Disney Channel on April 11, 1987. During that season Garrison Keillor was preparing to retire, which he did for a short while before reviving the show in 1989. As part of his planned retirement he agreed to air his "last" season on the Disney Channel. Despite the show being revived, it was never broadcast on television again (although recently performances of A Prairie Home Companion have been broadcast to cinemas as part of Garrison Keillor's most recent attempt at retirement) . This episode is only 90 minutes long because the television broadcasts had 30 minutes cut out from them. This is also the only episode I have; it was taped off of a free preview weekend of The Disney Channel (when it was a "premium" network, like HBO). Apologies for the occasional video dropouts, the tape is a bit worn out and my video capture card doesn't tolerate worn tapes very well. Part 1 of 7.
