Orquestacion con Instrumentos Virtuales con el Productor Musical Javier Quilis

How do you create an orchestration if you don't have an orchestra? Should you use virtual instruments? Which ones? And DAWs? FL Studio, Cubase, Logic Pro? Javier Quilis answered many of these questions in the live stream we did a few Fridays ago. In this video, courtesy of Asturscore, Javier Quilis talks not only about his career but also about the challenges a music producer faces when planning the sound design of their work, whose orchestration, as we mentioned, will be done with virtual instruments, as will the mastering and other processes. We visited his home studio (the Javi Road!), checked out his Cubase template (sorry, that's not in this video :P), and chatted informally about many things related to film scores and soundtracks. I'm Tony Domenech (Countblissett) and I've worked for over 12 years as a music educator at a private music school. Now I'm on YouTube and I talk about modern harmony, music theory, musical analysis, chords, composition, arranging, orchestration, etc. What I explain is applicable to piano, guitar, bass, etc. In addition to composing, arranging, and orchestrating my own commissions (mainly music for indie video games), I interview film composers and offer courses on music theory, modern harmony, chord voicings, melodic development, brass arranging, string arranging, and much more, which keeps growing based on subscriber requests. I enjoy music production, but I specialize more in composing and arranging music than in production itself, although I do some sound design if things get rough or someone holds a gun to my head. If it's to force me to use autotune, they'll have to pull the trigger. In general, I try to make music theory and its practice accessible to everyone. My Masterclasses are very affordable for that reason. I believe it's essential for composers to have a rich harmonic language, and I try to help in that area while I make a living.
