Appalachian Trail 2026 - From Atkins Virginia to Bear Garden Hiker Hostel

This year our section height consisted of three different legs. This video is day one leg one of our hike. We were going to leave our car at Atkins Virginia at the relax Inn or the Sunoco, but it just didn’t seem right. So I called Bertie at the Bear Garden Hiker Hostel and she said to drive our car there and Bob her husband could shut us back to Atkins the next morning and we can hike to our car at Bear garden. So that that’s what we did. This video is day one about 13 miles from the Sunoco in Atkins to Bear Garden Hiker Hostel. Highly recommend this hostel. Bertie and Bob are awesome.
