Doble terremoto en Venezuela

On Wednesday afternoon, Venezuela experienced one of its most catastrophic natural disasters in history. A double earthquake, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, struck the state of La Guaira, leaving, so far, more than 160 dead and nearly 1,000 injured. Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, declared a state of emergency and called on healthcare professionals to go to hospitals to assist in caring for those affected by the disaster. She also expressed her gratitude for the aid offered by the international community. According to the United States Geological Survey, the first earthquake occurred at 6:04 p.m., with its epicenter 21 kilometers west of Morón. Just one minute later, the second earthquake, measuring 7.5, struck, with its epicenter a few kilometers from the first, a phenomenon that experts describe as unusual.
