The Eccup Ten Road Race. Miles not Kilometres!

This is my third time to participate in the Eccup Ten Mile Road Race, which goes round Eccup Reservoir in north Leeds, as well as along some countryish lanes. The weather was quite cloudy and not too hot, which is totally OK for a substantial race. The start is in Adel, outside the Primary School on Long Causeway. At one point, the course is about half a mile from the TV show location, Emmerdale, while a bit of the course is on the IronMan Bike section as well as the Leeds Marathon route. Not bad! There's also a bit of road criss-crossing before the race ends where it started. The main challenge is the hilly nature of the course, not least the quite steep ascent before the end. The video starts with the PeterPlodsPlanet and a descent to the Start Line in Adel, where the runners are all ready for the 3 - 2 - 1 countdown. This is a great race to do for the added difficulty of a bit of hilliness and it also benefits from excellent organisation and traffic-free roads in a scenic spot with little in the way of built up areas. And, it is officially recognised by England Athletics as a ten-mile race for qualifying times and so on. Thank you for watching and, if you enjoy this kind of video, please consider a like and a subscribe. I'm also at: strava.com/athletes/154433710. The opening music is my own composition which fits nicely. My other YouTube channel is: PeterLynchMusic.
