Evangelio del Día 15 de junio | No hagáis frente al que os agravia | Mateo 5, 38-42

Today's readings show two very different ways of responding to evil. On the one hand, injustice and ambition ultimately destroy Naboth. On the other, the words of Jesus, which break the logic of revenge and propose a much more difficult path: responding without hatred. “Do not resist an evil person.” The Gospel doesn't sound comfortable, but it is profoundly human. Jesus isn't speaking of weakness, but of a different way of living, without letting resentment rule the heart. The psalm also captures this cry of those who feel wounded and seek refuge in God. Sometimes we don't understand certain situations, but the Word continues to remind us that God is not indifferent to injustice.
