Avoiding the Crowds on A Solo Motorcycle Camping Trip to Yellowstone!
#HarleyDavidson #MotorcycleTrip #Wyoming Wyoming is one of the best states for motorcycle touring. And taking a motorcycle trip through Yellowstone National Park should be on every rider’s bucket list. From wildlife, scenic drives, history, and of course, MOTORCYCLE CAMPING!…spending a few days in Yellowstone is a great way to unplug from the world...unless things don't go as planned. This year was MUCH different from the previous year in the park and I had to make a few last minute changes to enjoy my solo motorcycle camping trip. Day One: Grand Teton National Park to Madison Campground After splitting off from the crew of the Devilstone Run, I decided to take a plunge in the chilly waters of Jenny Lake before heading into Yellowstone National Park. We’ll get to see a herd of buffalo before getting camp set up at the Madison Campground. Day Two: Gardiner, Montana After multiple failed attempts trying to find parking (yes, even on a motorcycle!) at different attractions in the park, I decided to head outside the park boundary to explore Gardiner, Montana. Gardiner is the original gateway town to Yellowstone. It’s where you’ll find the Roosevelt Arch, the original entrance to the park. After Lunch, we head back into the park and stop at Fort Yellowstone. For the decade after Yellowstone National Park was established in 1872, the park was under serious threat from those who would exploit, rather than protect, its resources. Poachers killed animals. Souvenir hunters broke large pieces off the geysers and hot springs. Developers set up camps for tourists near hot springs, along with bath and laundry facilities in the hot springs. In response, the U.S. Army and Civilians were hired to protect the park. (Source: NPS.Gov) Afterward, we’ll ride the Upper Terrace Loop for a different view of Mammoth Hot Springs. Day Three: West Yellowstone Another busy morning in the park meant that exploring another gateway town would be the best option, so we’re heading to West Yellowstone! West Yellowstone is the busiest entrance to Yellowstone, and has been since 1913. Because so many visitors flock to the park via this entrance, the town of West Yellowstone has plenty of eateries and things to do. Breakfast: Running Bear Pancake House (Highly Recommend!!) The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center: This Not for Profit organization is home to Grizzlies, Wolves, Otters, and other wildlife that you can find in the park. All animals that live here have been rescued rather than euthanized. Some of the Grizzlies are Kodiak Grizzlies, meaning they were rescued in Alaska and brought to the center after human conflicts. The Museum of the Yellowstone: Before cars, motorcycles, and planes, the only way to get to West Yellowstone, was by train or horseback. Located in the original Union Pacific Railroad depot, the Museum of the Yellowstone takes you through the evolution and impacts of the park's Tourism in West Yellowstone. Beartooth BBQ: This BBQ Joint has been serving up smoked meats to the West Yellowstone community since 1999! Lastly, we’ll enjoy a ride down Firehole Canyon to check out the falls and swimming hole. ——————————————— 🚨Subscribe to this channel & ride along with me! 🚨 ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Support the channel & keep me on the road! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://www.shop.ridetofood.com ——————————————— Gear I used to film this video: 🎥 360 Camera: https://amzn.to/3iEgPi5 📸 Vlogging Camera: https://amzn.to/3I3chyk Full List of Gear I Use to Create Videos: https://ridetofood.com/camera-gear/ ——————————————— Riding Gear I am Wearing in this Video: Helmet: imp.i104546.net/qnEgOy Jacket: imp.i104546.net/mDeNZ Gloves: https://imp.i104546.net/Vy62eE Boots: https://click.linksynergy.com/deeplin... ——————————————— Thank you to my partners: Bell Powersports Rokform ——————————————— Let’s Get Social, Y’all!
